God's Promise to His People - Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

"And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasureof joining people in a meeting to discuss a time of corporate prayer for the city of Dallas. As I listened to certain individuals' hearts conveyed aloud, one tone rang true - we all longed to see the Lord move in a mighty way here in Dallas. To be specific, one individual prayer that was lifted up to the Lord was that of God's response to Solomon’s prayer. As God explained to His servant, restoration and forgiveness would come to the Israelites if they would turn from their sin and pursue the Lord in humility and prayer. Isn’t this a beautiful image of God’s people turning from their wicked ways? Therefore, let us pray the body of Christ in Dallas would use this Old Testament example as an encouragement in our relationship with Jesus Christ. And as we turn to the Lord, we can trust that the Lord will respond to our corporate cry of like-mindedness and heal our city of Dallas.
