The Spirit Intercedes- Friday, March 2nd, 2007

"In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."
- Romans 8:26-27

Two days ago, I went out to the land in the early a.m. where the 40-day tent revival is going to be held. But this time was different. I did go to pray, but I didn't know what to say. I was tired. I just wanted the Lord to continue to reveal Himself in this whole process. I wantedthe Lord to beevident and present in every little detail. Yet, I didn't know where to begin praying. It seemed as if there was too much to pray for.More and more details keep compiling for the 40 days. So I did a silent prayer walk 3 times around the land. I didn't even think about anything. I just walked. And walked, and walked. I needed to let the Spirit intercede on my behalf. It wasn't the lazy way out of praying. It was me just not knowing where to start in my prayer. What should I say this time?

It was time for me tostep aside and let the Spirit intercede. Ineeded help in my "selective" and "limited" prayer life. This mightsound funny, but thisis something Istruggle with. I am narrow-minded in my prayertimes. And this was the case that specificmorning. I had nothing to say, and I mean NOTHING. I was tired of praying for the same ol' stuff. Why I am having to wait on some speakers? Why the slow response for the worship teams? When will the money come in? Thankfully I am reminded by the encouraging words of the Apostle Paul, when he wrote,"God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).

" We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from Heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again."
